Once you create a  blog, it’s quite obvious that you wish to see more visitors coming to your blog and reading your blog posts. In this regard I have written a post on “Top 10 ways to promote your blog” to help newbie bloggers understand how to gain more visitors to their blog. You can also consider the following as “Top 10 ways to drive more traffic to your blog”, The top 10 ways... here they are…

1) Social Networking :

It’s quite common that every one of us has an account in at least one of the following Social Networking sites namely Facebook / Myspace / Twitter / Flixya / Orkut etc. Social Networking can help us do more than just keeping in touch with our friends. Infact Social Networking is one of the best way to drive traffic to your blog. Each time you update your blog, you can share your blog posts links with your friends. (In facebook you can share your blog post links on your wall, Twitter users can tweet their blog post links while orkut users can share their blog post links through scraps, ‘orkut promote’ & sharing their links in appropriate community forums.)

2) Participating in Forums :

Participate in forums which have a niche or topic as one similar to your blog’s niche. You can join famous forums such as Google Answers, Yahoo Answers, Digital Point etc. Post your comments (be sensible and appropriate to the best of your knowledge on the issue / topic being discussed, while posting your comments), Leave the URL of your blog at the end of your comment / Embed it in the commentator’s signature.

3) Create and share Videos :

This I would say is one of the best ways to promote your blog. So if you want to share some information about a particular topic I suggest that you create a video and upload it in sites like Youtube / Tube Mogul / Metacafe. You can request the viewers of your video to visit your blog for more information & you can also display the URL of your blog in the video. This way you can reach many people easily.

Key point : “The number of search results in “Youtube” on any topic are always low when compared to “Google” so with the help of little hard work the chances of your result getting displayed on the 1^st page of Youtube is very high when compared to its happening on the 1^st page of Google.”

4) Write Articles:

Write articles and submit it to article submission sites such as submityourarticle . com / ezinearticles . com / articlemarketer . com. Remember some websites may charge you for submitting the article however I suggest that you opt for free one’s. Through this articles submission you can get a serious amount of exposure for your blog. Remember to share the link of your blog at the end of your article.

5) Promotion through RSS Feeds :

RSS stands for “Really Simple Syndication”, Keep the RSS Feed buttons at the most visible places of your blog so that your blog readers can receive a Feed each time you update your blog and thus prompting them to visit your blog. I would suggest the right corner of your blog shall be a best place for this. You can also share your RSS Feed URL at the end of each blog posts requesting them to subscribe to it.

6) Update your blog regularly :

Search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing just love blogs which are updated frequently. Updating your blog regularly helps you fetch more organic traffic to your blog.

7) SEO (Search Engine Optimization) :

If you love to see your blog on the first page of SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages) . It is must that you do some sorry more SEO on your blog and blogposts. I will discuss some the best SEO tips in my next hubs. SEO helps you drive more organic traffic to your blog.

8) Email Promotion:

Email all your friends about your blog and blogposts, requesting them to send the mail to all their friends and so on…but remember not to spam your mail.

9) Place your blog Ads in Free Classified services :

There are a number of websites on the internet which provide this service. What all you need to do this just sign up for free and start placing your links / ads of your blog in appropriate category.

10) Word of Mouth :

Give a word of mouth to all your friends and whomever comes across you. This may appear a bit annoying but you never know may be a few might become fans of your blog too.
